We had a chance to catch up with busy student, Lina Bender, on her way to becoming a Certified Wedding and Event Planner. Ms. Bender is a student in Wedding and Event Planning and Wedtech Acamedy Member.
Lina’s project one (1) was to design an event and bring her “A Game” to the design and event experience. We enjoyed her project and we think you will too!
What 3 things would you like to share about yourself?
1. I have planned 300 events and decorated more than 100 events in the last 10 years.
2. I speak Spanish and English fluently.
3. I am a Fashion designer and Textile designer.
Why did you enroll in the Certified Wedding and Event Planning and Design Programs?
“I am a creative person who likes to be self employed. I do not like being in an office all day.”
What was the inspiration for this project?
“I was living in Silicon Valley and I wanted to create something romantic, elegant with a touch of vintage. The wedding would be in the summer and they want to use very soft colors and outfits that allow them to be comfortable and fresh.”
What did you find to be the most challenging?
“The most challenging thing was to just start…”
What was your favorite part?
“I really enjoyed building out the entire project, especially utilizing the Event Planning Process.”
What was the biggest takeaway you learned?
“The experience of learning from this system was wonderful, even though I have more than 10 years of experience in the wedding industry. Using the A8 to build proposals for brides is a valuable tool.”
What advice do you have for anyone planning to start a career in wedding and event planning?
“The best advice is to be passionate about your work, not to take anything personally, and make each event or wedding as if it were yours.”
