We had a chance to catch up with busy student, Monique Silva, on her way to becoming a Certified Wedding and Event Planner & Designer. Ms. Silva is a student in both Wedding and Event Planning and Signature Wedding and Event Design.

Monique’s project two (2) was to sell her company’s products and services to a new client. We enjoyed her project and we think you’ll enjoy it too!

What did you find to be the most challenging?

The most challenging part of Project #2 was developing the service packages. Once I identified what my goals were the process flowed much easier.

What was your favorite part?

My favorite part of the project was researching various theme ideas for engagement & bachelor parties. I love the design aspect of being an event planner. It allows me to use my creative skills.

What was the biggest take-away you learned?

The biggest thing I took away from this project was that it is absolutely ok to tailor your service packages to suit your needs and still be able to provide services to couples and clients.

What advice do you have for anyone planning to start a career in wedding and event planning?

My best advice is to do your homework. Network with your local vendors to get a feel of the services they offer so you better understand how the wedding and event planning industry works in real life circumstances.
