Student Spotlight – Kryshana Madrid

We had a chance to catch up with busy student, Kryshana Madrid, on her way to becoming a Certified Wedding and Event Planner. Ms. Madrid is a student in Wedding and Event Planning.

Kryshana’s project one (1) was to design an event and bring her “A Game” to the design and event experience. We enjoyed her project and we think you’ll enjoy it too!

What 3 things would you like to share about yourself?

1. I have a Culinary Degree.

2. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

3. I love to paint/draw.

Why did you enroll in the Certified Wedding and Event Planning and Design Programs?

I fell in love with event planning about 2 years ago. I wanted to be educated in this industry so I could pursue a career in it. I choose Lovegevity because it provides me with tools and resources to be successful and professional.

What was the inspiration for this project?

I had just moved to a new city and heard about this indoor farmers market called the Rail Yards Market. I went to go check it out and fell in love with this industrial warehouse and that is how this concept started.

What did you find to be the most challenging?

I wanted to be consistent in my design and décor choices. I wanted this couple to have a fluent identity. Also, learning the WIX program was a big challenge for me.

What was your favorite part?

Appetite was the best! I went to Culinary school so I had fun with creating this menu. I also wanted my NM roots to show through because I do love Southwestern cuisine.

What was the biggest take-away you learned?

Biggest take-away? Probably realizing this is not a project I could produce in a weekend. Yikes! This project took vision, organization and ingenuity. A project like this takes time so start on it right away so you don’t become stressed.

What advice do you have for anyone planning to start a career in wedding and event planning?

Listen; write everything down, communicate and lastly stay positive about your execution. We are all human.
