We had a chance to catch up with recent CWEP graduate, Matalyn Molton and look back on her journey to
becoming a Certified Wedding and Event Planner.
What 3 things would you like to share about yourself?
1. I have had extensive training in the visual arts since I was little.
2. I have lived in the Dallas area for 20 years!
3. I have always had a knack for party planning, and I decided that I wanted to pursue it professionally. Getting my wedding and event planning certification is the best thing I’ve ever done.

Why did you enroll in the Certified Wedding and Event Planning and Design Programs?

When I graduated High School, I didn’t really have a plan. I always felt stuck in different jobs, and wanted to have an outlet for my creativity! My boyfriend (now fiancé) recommended that I look into wedding and event planning classes.
I took a risk and signed up for the class. I was so scared! But the CWEP class is easy to understand, and fun to study! I had an absolute blast!
What was the inspiration for this project?

What did you find to be the most challenging?

What was your favorite part?

What was the biggest take-away you learned?

My biggest take-away was how much you can really impact a couple’s life, marriage, and memories. Most couples will only have one wedding day.
You are privileged enough to be a part of that! This is the biggest day of their lives!
What advice do you have for anyone planning to start a career in wedding and event planning?
